Public Transport

The best trams to catch are 1, 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72 & 19, whilst for buses it's the 200, 207, 250, 251, 401, 402, 403, 505, 546. For those coming by train the closest stations are either Melbourne Central or North Melbourne and then making your way by tram, bus, bike or foot to the precinct.

Private Transport

There are 90 public bike parking spaces along Grattan & Swanston Streets. Taxi Pick up & drop off point are located on Grattan Street. Public car parking is available at three locations within the Parkville campus. Several other public car parks are available within walking distance.

Powered by the University of Melbourne and developed in partnership with a consortium led by Lendlease, the precinct has been designed by internationally acclaimed architectural firms Woods Bagot and Hayball and features a series of interconnecting buildings arranged around a central landscaped open space known as Womin Djerring (Come Together).

The University’s fit-outs were designed by Hassell, Architectus and Smart Design Studio, and at the heart of this extraordinary project is the 3,600sqm Superfloor, offering meeting and event spaces that provides partners an immersive environment to explore new ideas, showcase their work and collaborate with the best minds in innovation.

The building also boasts a 6-star green star rating as well as a 4.5-star NABERS water rating and 5 star NABERS energy rating and is home to one of Melbourne’s largest rooftop solar PV arrays, with sustainability a key priority for the precinct.

The Forum

Located on the Superfloor at Melbourne Connect

Make your way up the stairs to the mezzanine level and you’ll discover this event space which will host a number of events across the festival.

This highly versatile event spaces hosts up to 400 people in a lecture type set up, 200 in a dining set up or be split into three smaller rooms with 100 person capacity and looks into Science Gallery Melbourne’s atrium gallery, providing guests with access to beautiful displays of art and cultural installations.

The Launch Pad

Located next to the cafe on the Superfloor

This central open plan area will host panels, pitch comps, art exhibits and many other events across the five day festival.

When you arrive at the precinct make your way to the mezzanine level and our concierge team can direct you to the Launch Pad which is next to our new cafe.

The Studio

Located next to the ground level, next to Womin-djerring.

A light-filled space perfect for workshops and group activities, the Studio will be buzzing throughout the entire festival. Poke your head in as you go past and there’s sure to be an event happening when you visit Melbourne Connect.

Located on the mezzanine and entrance to the Superfloor
